Nagaland >> Wildlife
Nagaland is proud of its rich wild life. Each sanctuary is different from the others for the variety and scenic beauty it offers. The Fakim Sanctuary close to the Myanmar border receives high rainfall and is inhabited by tigers and Hoolock gibbons. Among the birdlife, the tragopan pheasant is a bird watchers delight. The Pulie Badze Sanctuary is a ringed-in 9 sq. kms. area which lies in the proximity of Kohima.

Intanki Wildlife Sanctuary

Located about 37 km from Dimapur and 111 km from Kohima, Intanki Wildlife Sanctuary is the home to the Hoolock Baboon, the only gibbon found in India. The sanctuary also has a sizeable number of elephant, tiger, mithun, sambhar, wild dog and sloth bear.
