Engineering Education in India:

Engineering is the dream course for students in India. Especially in the last ten years, there has been a tremendous growth in the engineering education in India. The IIT JEE exam is noteworthy and stands first, among all other exams because is conducted by the IIT, the Indian Institute of Technology, which can be rightly called as the master engineering institute of our country. The opportunity of studying in IIT, is only given for a very few highly eligible students. The various courses offered in engineering in India are BTech, BE, MTech and the ME respectively. The fees for these courses in the private institutions are very high, that it exceeds to some few lakhs. BTech and BE are four years course, where as the masters MTech and ME are two years course. Project an in plant training are compulsory in these course. There are many specializations in this course, like mechanical, automobile, computers, electrical, electronics, information technology and it goes on. Multi national companies recruit engineers, through campus in a very large scale. Engineers are not only placed in India, but also in foreign countries like the United States, United Kingdom and so on. Indian engineers in Microsoft are a standing example for this. They not only give their active work but also tend to create, technical advancements.

            The sad and prevailing fact is that the quality of Indian Engineers is getting very low. This is because of the colleges mushrooming here and there. Thus government should take up a call, on this and should encourage only qualitative, certified institutions to make India full of worthy engineers, who can stand eminent in the whole world.
