Many of the candidates , might have observed that even after submission of c.v. , for various relevant positions he / she is not called for interview . In present competitive scenario it is more so important to be professional in preparing c.v. . Observe following C.V. tips for your guidance.

For certain categories, there are many applicants and it is hectic task for the HR department or the manpower consultant to shortlist candidates for interview . Reputed manpower consultants get at least 200 to 300 CVs daily . Often, it is seen that suitable candidates are not called or missed out ,this is specifically because candidate submits c.v. , which is not presented properly. Hence it is more so important to design the c.v. in right fashion.

Persons applying for specific job should study the job requirement carefully and if having more or less similar experience in the field as mentioned in the advertisement , should highlight the specific experience in c.v. This helps the consultant or HR person to short list the candidate for interview .

Resume/c.v. reflects person's neatness / methodic way or otherwise . Professional manpower consultants can read through the c.v. and can judge a person to certain extent. Recruitment Consultant or H.R. Manager can assess about candidate's neatness and whether the candidate is methodic or not.

There are in general two methods to set out c.v. , one is starting with personnel details and second with ending personnel details. While forming the c.v. one should keep some aspects in mind and in general are as follows.....

* All pages including c.v. and enclosures should be of one size preferably A 4

* Neatly typewritten.

* Staple properly at left corner.

* Staple your recent photograph on right hand side of your c.v.

* Give educational Qualifications professional courses details ( latest first.) in tabular form giving your of passing university, period etc.

* Give employment detailed history ( latest first ) in tabular form, indicating company period (from - to ), position held at different stages.

* Elaborate the experience in each company highlighting proficiency in the job advertised.

* Do not repeat same things , again and again , in the c.v.

Due to large manpower turnover creates more vacancies which needs to be advertised. You must have observed that number of advertisements have increased over the period of time . Some of the candidates get confused as to which position he should apply and in the process sends his standard set of c.v. for such vacancies , and ultimately finds that he is not getting responses from any of the company / recruiting consultants.

Select proper position and study the requirement , analyze your-self how best you are suitable for the position , set out your c.v. as described above and apply . Covering letter also carries equal importance .So draft properly giving / highlighting your suitability for the position , highlighting your experience in the field , as asked for, in the advertisement.

In present computer age it is advantageous that candidate going for interview , should carry soft copy of his c.v
