Many of the candidates , might have observed
that even after submission of c.v. , for various relevant
positions he / she is not called for interview . In present
competitive scenario it is more so important to be professional
in preparing c.v. . Observe following C.V. tips for your
guidance.
For certain categories, there are many
applicants and it is hectic task for the HR department or the
manpower consultant to shortlist candidates for interview .
Reputed manpower consultants get at least 200 to 300 CVs daily .
Often, it is seen that suitable candidates are not called or
missed out ,this is specifically because candidate submits c.v.
, which is not presented properly. Hence it is more so important
to design the c.v. in right fashion.
Persons applying for specific job should
study the job requirement carefully and if having more or less
similar experience in the field as mentioned in the
advertisement , should highlight the specific experience in c.v.
This helps the consultant or HR person to short list the
candidate for interview .
Resume/c.v. reflects person's neatness /
methodic way or otherwise . Professional manpower consultants
can read through the c.v. and can judge a person to certain
extent. Recruitment Consultant or H.R. Manager can assess about
candidate's neatness and whether the candidate is methodic or
not.
There are in general two methods to set out c.v. , one is
starting with personnel details and second with ending personnel
details. While forming the c.v. one should keep some aspects in
mind and in general are as follows.....
*
All pages including c.v. and
enclosures should be of one size preferably A 4
*
Neatly typewritten.
*
Staple properly at left
corner.
*
Staple your recent photograph
on right hand side of your c.v.
*
Give educational
Qualifications professional courses details ( latest first.) in
tabular form giving your of passing university, period etc.
*
Give employment detailed
history ( latest first ) in tabular form, indicating company
period (from - to ), position held at different stages.
*
Elaborate the experience in
each company highlighting proficiency in the job advertised.
*
Do not repeat same things ,
again and again , in the c.v.
Due
to large manpower turnover creates more vacancies which needs to
be advertised. You must have observed that number of
advertisements have increased over the period of time . Some of
the candidates get confused as to which position he should apply
and in the process sends his standard set of c.v. for such
vacancies , and ultimately finds that he is not getting
responses from any of the company / recruiting consultants.
Select proper position and study the requirement , analyze
your-self how best you are suitable for the position , set out
your c.v. as described above and apply . Covering letter also
carries equal importance .So draft properly giving /
highlighting your suitability for the position , highlighting
your experience in the field , as asked for, in the
advertisement.
In present computer
age it is advantageous that candidate going for interview ,
should carry soft copy of his c.v
