Medical College & Hospital Kolkata MBBS Course Admission

Established in the year 1835, the Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata is the first medical college in the whole of Sis as well as the first hospital in India. The State Government of west Bengal is taking care of all the activities of the Medical College and Hospital and is responsible for the funding operations of the institution. The college is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and it provides all the desiring candidates in West Bengal to seek high quality and research oriented graduate and post graduate courses offered by the college. The Medical College and Hospital is accredited to the Medical Council of India and some of the facilities provided by the college include canteen, internet facilities, and library as well as well equipped laboratories.

Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate who is interested to take up the MBBS course that is offered by the Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata must be an Indian citizen and also should be 17 years and above at the time of admission. The candidate should have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the 10+2 exam pattern or any other qualifying examination from other states that is recognized by the Government of West Bengal with Physics, Chemistry and Biology being the main subjects as well as English being one of the other subjects. The SCD/St candidates seeking admission to the course will be required to score a minimum of 40% arks in the above mentioned subjects in order to be eligible to taker up the course.

Admission Procedure:
Any candidate who is eligible to seek admission to the MBBS course will be required to take up the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the WBJEE board on a specified date. The students will be enrolled into the MBBS course based on the merit marks that he or she scores in the qualifying entrance examination.
