Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi MBBS Admission Courses 2014-2015

Lady Hardinge Medical College for women was established in the year 1916 to commemorate the visit of Her Majesty Queen Mary in the year 1911-12. Lady Hardinge, the wife of the then viceroy Charles Hardinge took the initiative to start a medical college for women. The foundation stone was laid by her on 17th march 1914. Unfortunately she died in the same year. The queen suggested naming the college after its founder. It is affiliated to Delhi University and has two hospitals under it. Smt. Sucheta Kriplani Hospital and Kalawati Saran Childrenís Hospital. LHMC conducts medical under graduate and post graduate courses, degree course in nursing and medical lab technician courses. LHMC has anatomy, biochemistry, community medicine, forensic medicine, microbiology departments. It also conducts Ph. D courses.

Eligibility criteria
For admission to the MBBS course is based on the entrance exam conducted by the Delhi University. To be eligible for this entrance exam the candidate should have passed 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology scoring a minimum of 50% marks in each subject. The minimum age required is 17 years as on 31st December of the year of admission. The admission notice for the entrance exam will be published in the news papers in February every year.

Admission procedure
For admission to the MBBS course the notification and prospectus will be available from the University of Delhi. The candidate has to pass the Delhi University Medical Entrance Test. The admission will be based on the marks scored in this test. for further information about the entrance exam and admission procedures to the various courses, the candidate can contact Dy.
