The B.J. Medical College is one of the oldest medical
institutions in the city of Allahabad and has been imparting
education in the field of medicine and medicine related subjects
since its inception in 1871 as the Allahabad Medical School with
a total of 14 students. The school was renamed as B.J medical
School in 1879 after the late hon. Byramjee Jeejabhoy who had
donated a considerable sum of one lakh Rupees to construct the
magnificent college building that is a landmark building in the
religious city of Allahabad. The B.J College was affiliated to
the Gujarat University in 1951 for the undergraduate course and
was affiliated to the University again in 1956 for the Post
graduate courses. The alumni of the B.J College is providing
quality medical care all over the world
Eligibility Criteria:
Any student who is seeking admission to the MBBS course offered
by the B.J Medical College in Allahabad has to be an Indian
citizen and should have completed 17 years of age at the time of
admission. The candidate should have passed the 12 years Higher
Secondary examinations that are conducted by the institutions in
and around the state of Gujarat with English, Physics,
Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology being the qualifying
examinations with an aggregate of 55% marks. The candidate also
needs to be medically fit in order to gain admission to the MBBS
course of B.J. Medical College.
Admission Procedure:
The eligible candidates will be selected to take up the MBBS
course offered by the college on the basis of the merit marks
obtained in the Theory papers of Physics, Chemistry, Maths,
Biology subjects of the qualifying examination. In case of a
tie, candidate’s aggregate marks in theory as well as practical
examinations will be considered for selecting the candidate. For
