Madras University MBA/BBA Admission 2013-2014

Established in the year 1857, the Madras University is amongst the first three universities of India. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) had given it a five star rating in its first assessment and awarded an A grade the second time. The UGC has also bestowed laurels upon this prestigious university with a special mention stating that this university is one of the centers with a great potential for academic excellence.

Along with academic curriculum the university actively follows research and training programs in the areas of Arts, Humanities, Science, Management and Technology.

The Madras University offers both Post Graduate and Under Graduate courses in business administration (MBA/BBA) through a number of affiliated institutions.

Eligibility Criteria:
For admission to the MBA course the candidate should be a graduate in any discipline from Madras University or any other recognized university. A minimum of two years of professional experience at Executive or Supervisory levels is must.
For admission to the BBA course the candidate should have passed 10+2 in any stream from a Recognized Board of Education with at least 50% marks. A relaxation of 5% is provided for Reserved Category students. The candidate should also be shown to have proficiency in English with a minimum acceptable TOEFL score of 550 or IELTS score of 213.

Admission Procedure:
For admission to the MBA course passing an entrance test is a must. This will be followed by a group discussion and a personal interview. A final merit list will be drawn based on the scores of the above three.
For admission to the BBA course the candidate should submit a duly filled-in application form obtained from the university or its affiliate colleges along with a demand draft of specified amount. Eligible candidates will then be called in for taking the final admission.
