ILS Law College, Pune Courses Admission 2013-2014
Indian law society’s law college was established in 1924. It is
known to be the oldest legal institution in India. It is one of
the top ten law colleges of India. The 175 acre campus has lot
of greenery. It has a naturalistic campus consisting of swimming
pool, tennis court, football field, Sarswati Building and laxmi
building. Sarswati building houses the library, the reading
room, the administrative office, the conference hall and the
Principal's office, the chambers of other faculty members and
computer facilities for research students. Laxmi building houses
fifteen halls for lectures, the legal aid centre and an
auditorium to accommodate 400 people which is used for guest
lectures, college functions and presentations.
Apart from academic infrastructure, it also has residential
complex for male students; Ladies Hostel, a gymnasium, a
sprawling cricket. The sports pavilion houses the indoor sports
facilities, tennis courts and a swimming pool. ILS has India’s
best library which has over 45,000 books. Other facilities
offered are computer and photocopying and online search
catalogue. The well experienced faculty involve themselves both
in teaching and research. The faculty helps students in
practical teaching also which in turn strengthens their
potential. Many students coming from such as Bhutan, Nepal,
South Korea, Pakistan, Afghanistan, USA, Switzerland, Kenya,
Canada, Uganda etc also study here.
The admission is purely based on 12th standard marks. A minimum
score of 45% is required to get admitted in ILS. The students
excel with physical, cultural and social activities apart from
legal education. Food facilities are provided in canteen and
mess ensuring variety of food.
Recruiters come from law firms, banks and multinational
companies for placement. ILS offers five-year degree course, the
three-year degree course various diplomas and distance-learning
courses. It has a record of 90% placements and thus is
considered as one of the reputed institutions.
