Sri Venkateswara University was established in the famous pilgrimage centre, Tirupati in 1958. This university was established to fulfill the high educational needs of the people of Rayalaseema area of Andhra Pradesh. This university was the vision of Late Sri. Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, the then chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and Late Sri. Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy. This university plays a vital role in teaching, research and extension activities and offers courses in a wide range of disciplines. The present Vice Chancellor of this university is Prof. N. Prabhakar Rao. The different programmes conducted by the institutes include Post Graduate degree, Ph.D., PG Diploma, M.Phil, Junior Diploma, Certificates etc. Sri Venkateswara University’s Directorate of Distance Education was established in 1972 with the sole objective of catering to the high educational requirements of students, housewives and professionals who wish to upgrade their academic qualification but are unable to pursue proper college education due to various reasons like economic constraints, lack of time or being employed. In the year 1984, this university has established its computer centre for the benefit of the entire University Community.

Eligibility
The students seeking admission in MCA course in this university includes 3 years graduation with Mathematics as a compulsory subject from a recognized university or Mathematics/ Statistics as a mandatory subject at 10 + 2 level. The student with BCA, BBA, B.Sc (IT) or a diploma in computer from a recognized university is also eligible for admission to this premier university.

Admission Procedure
The admission procedure to this university is based on qualifying Entrance Examination conducted by this University. There is special privilege for SC/ST candidates under this university.
