Shri Krishnadevaraya University was initially the Post Graduate
centre of Shri Venkateswara University in the year 1968 and has
gained autonomy in 1976. In the year 1981 it was given the
status of a University. It was established to cater to the high
educational needs of the districts of Anantapur and Kurnool.
This university offers a wide range of courses and research
programmes in various disciplines. Apart from academic
advancement opportunities, this institute has provided a large
number of facilities like well stocked library, hi-tech
laboratories, playgrounds, outdoor stadium, gymnasium, internet
and computer networks, E-Class Room, Health care centre, guest
house, canteen, etc. for the benefit of the students and
teaching departments. The Centre of Distance Education of this
University was established in the academic year 2000-01 with its
medium of instruction in only English language. The CDA (Centre
for Distance Education) has been founded with the aim of helping
those students, walking professionals, dropouts, etc. who
desires to upgrade their qualification and strive for better job
placements but are unable to attend the regular classes due to
various reasons.
Eligibility
The eligibility criteria required for admission to this reputed
institution is graduation degree with Mathematics as a mandatory
subject from a recognized university. Candidates with B.Tech,
BCA, BBA and B.Sc (IT) or any other computer related discipline
are also preferred for admission.
Admission Procedure
The admission procedure to this university is generally made on
the basis of ICET (Common Entrance Test) which is conducted by
Andhra Pradesh government. The candidates who have ICET 2002
valid score are not required to write the examination.
