The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has been
imparting quality education in higher studies to many aspiring
students of this country since its inception in 1985 through the
Open and Distance Learning mode of education. The leniency shown
in the flexibility of eligibility conditions, ease of learning
and relaxation of the time to complete a course have contributed
to the growth of IGNOU and currently it has about 30 lakh
students pursuing distance education from a total of over 3500
courses from 338 programs of study. One of the important
features of IGNOU is that it provides excellent multimedia
support for its academic programs and also runs a 24 hour
educational channel called Gyan Darshan in the country.
Eligibility Criteria:
The distance education Master of Business Administration program
offered by IGNOU is recognized by All Indian Council for
Technical Education (AICTE). A candidate seeking admission to
the distance education MBA course offered by this prestigious
people’s University must hold a Bachelor’s degree in any
discipline with a minimum of three years work experience in
either supervisory or managerial posts in any company or should
have professional experience. Also students with professional
degree in Engineering and technology or Architecture or Law or
Medicine or Professional qualification in Accountancy, Company
Secretaryship etc will be eligible to seek education to the MBA
course through distance education mode from IGNOU.
Admission Procedure:
In order to seek admission to the MBA course, the eligible
candidates need to take an open Management Aptitude Test (MAT)
examination conducted by the University. Admission to the course
will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying
examination as well as the marks that the candidate scores in
the MAT entrance test conducted by the University. For further
