Tamil Nadu Open University was established in order to provide quality higher education to the various people who have been deprived of or have been denied the access to pursue higher education due to various factors in the interior parts of Tamil Nadu. The University was established by the Act No 27 passed by the Legislative Assembly of Government of Tamil Nadu in 2002. The Tamil Nadu Open University has got the backing of both the Distance Education Council as well as the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The MBA course offered by the Tamil Nadu Open University is considered to be one of the top MBA courses in the country and many people from different walks of life have been learning the MBA through the successful distance education program of the University.

Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate seeking admission to the MBA course offered by Tamil Nadu Open University needs to be a citizen of Indian origin. He or she must have completed the Bachelor’s degree course in any discipline either from the Tamil Nadu Open University or from any other University or college that is recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The minimum duration of the Master of Business Administration through distance education mode of the University is about 2 years and the maximum duration is about 8 years. Also, candidates with a Professional Bachelor’s degree in field of engineering and technology, Architecture, Law or Medicine can also seek admission to the MBA program.

The admission to the Master of Business Administration through correspondence from the Tamil Nadu Open University will be based on the marks scored by the candidate in the qualifying examination as well as the work experience that the candidate has.
