University of Calicut Distance Education MBA Admission

The University of Calicut is the second such University to be set up in Kerala and it came into existence in the year 1968. The sprawling University campus is located at Thenipalam which is about 24 kms south of the city of Calicut in Malappuram district. It was started with a vision to impart quality education and research oriented programs for the people in the interior parts of the Northern Malabar region. A total of over 300 colleges are affiliated to the University from various districts of Kerala like Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, and Wayanad. The School of Distance education is also situated inside the University campus itself and is considered to be a boon to many students who are deprived of studying in the regular stream of courses in the college due to various social and economic reasons.

Eligibility Criteria:
In order to be eligible for the MBA course of the University of Calicut through correspondence, a candidate should be holding a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline either from the University of Calicut or any other University that is recognized by this University. The minimum aggregate marks for the qualifying degree course should be about 50%. Candidates with Bachelor of Engineering and Technology graduate degree as well as Bachelor’s degree in other profession al courses are also eligible to take up the MBA course offered by the University.

Admission Procedure:
All the eligible candidates will have to take the common entrance test conducted by the University of Calicut for seeking admission into the MBA program. Also scores that candidates obtained in the MAT or CAT exams will be considered will be considered for admission to the MBA course. The admission to the MBA course will be based on the marks obtained in the entrance test.
