Distance Learning B.Ed Admission
The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University in Nasik came
into existence in the year 1989 by the Maharashtra State
Legislative Act No XX. This is the first Mega Open University in
India to be awarded the prestigious award for Excellence in
Institution Achievement in the year 2002 by “The Commonwealth of
Learning”, Canada. The YCMOU is the fifth such Open University
in the country and it has been recognized by the University
Grants Commission of India. The University has also been given
permission to establish study centers outside the State of
Maharashtra. The YCMOU is a member of the Association of Indian
Universities and is recognized by the distance educational
council in New Delhi. The YCMOU is located in the city of Nashik.
Eligibility criteria:
Any candidate seeking admission to the Bachelor of Education
program through distance education course in YCMOU needs to be a
graduate in any discipline with an aggregate of 50% marks that
is received from any recognized University. The candidate will
also be needed to provide testimonials pertaining to a two year
experience as a teaching professional in any Government or
Government aided or recognized private schools. The proficiency
in English is a must for getting admission into the B Ed
distance education course of the Open University.
Admission procedure:
The eligible candidate interested to join the distance education
B Ed program of Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University
in Nashik will have to take the entrance test conducted by the
Open University. The candidate will also need to score high
marks in the entrance test in order to stand a chance for
getting admission into the course as the selection is purely
based on the merit marks scored by the candidates in the test.
