It was in the year 1972 that the Sri Venkateswara University
Directorate of Distance education, one of the pioneer distance
education centers in the country, was established. Since then,
the University has been catering to the needs of different
students to excel in their chosen field of study in a flexible
and convenient atmosphere. The University boasts of providing
prolific and quality education to the aspirants without being
confined to classroom learning. The University’s Distance
Education courses got upgraded as the Directorate of Distance
Education in 1995 as per the norms of the University Grants
Commission.
Eligibility criteria:
Any candidate seeking admission to the bachelor of education
course through distance learning from the Sri Venkateswara
University will need to have completed his or her bachelor’s
degree in any discipline with a minimum qualification mark of
50% from any recognized University. Apart from the bachelor’s
degree, the candidate should also have a two year teaching
experience in any Government or Government aided school or
private school that is recognized by the University or the State
government. The duration of the Bachelor of Education course is
for a period of one year. An SC/ST candidate or a physically or
visually challenged candidate needs a minimum of 40% mark to be
eligible for admission to the B Ed distance education course.
Admission Procedure:
All the eligible candidates will have to undergo an entrance
test conducted by Sri Venkateswara University Distance Education
department on a specified date notified by the University. Only
students who pass this entrance test will be eligible for
admission to the B Ed course. The selection of the candidates to
the Bachelor of Education through distance education course will
