Mother Teresa Women’s University is one of the very few women
universities in India and has been helping womenfolk from all
over the country to pursue their dream by imparting quality
education and research oriented program since its inception in
1984 by the Act passed by the Tamil Nadu Act no. 15. The
University is situated at the picturesque hill station of
Kodaikanal in the State of Tamil Nadu. The University aims at
providing excellent educational academic activities to empower
the women and also provides employment opportunities to many
young girls. Mother Teresa Women’s University has been
accredited with B++ Grade by NAAC. The Directorate of Distance
Education of Mother Teresa Women’s University was set up in 1998
and has a wide range of courses offered to deserve girl
students. The Directorate of Distance education functions from
the University campus in Kodaikanal and has many study centers
in major town and cities in order to support more and more
womenfolk from gaining quality education.
Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate seeking admission to the Mother Teresa Women’s
University distance education B Ed course needs to have
completed her bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a reputed
and recognized University. Also, a two year teaching experience
in primary, secondary, higher secondary levels in either
government or government aided or private schools that are
recognized by the State of Tamil Nadu and the University.
Admission Procedure:
An eligible candidate will have to pass the entrance test
conducted by the University in order to stand a chance to gain
admission to the B Ed course in the University. The selection of
the candidates to the distance education B Ed program will be
based on the marks obtained in the entrance test. For further
