Karnataka State Open University
(KSOU) Distance Education BEd Admission 2013-2014
A premier institute that is the guiding light for many a
candidate seeking to pursue higher education through
correspondence is the Karnataka State Open University that is
seen as a leader in Open Distance Learning system in the
country. It came into existence in the year 1996 under the state
enactment KSOU Act of 1992. The University aims at imparting
quality education to the door steps of the students not only in
the State of Karnataka but also the entire country as well as
abroad. A landmark figure of 1,00,000 student enrollments was
achieved for the academic year 2009-10. The University has been
recognized by the Distance Education Council (New Delhi) as well
as the University Grants Commission and is a member of the
Association of Indian Universities. The KSOU is the eighth Open
University to be set up in India.
Eligibility Criteria:
The students who meets all the below mentioned criteria are
eligible to apply for the two year Bachelor of Education program
offered by KSOU. The candidate needs to hold a Bachelor’s or
Master’s degree in Arts or Science from a reputed and recognized
University or a deemed University. The candidate should also be
working as a full time teacher with a minimum of two years
experience in teaching in any level from a recognized
educational institution Honorary or part time teachers will not
be eligible to seek admission to this course.
Admission Procedure:
The eligible candidates will have to secure good marks in the
entrance test conducted by the Karnataka State Open University
in order to gain admission to the distance education B Ed
course. The selection of the candidates will be purely on merit
basis and also on their performance during the counseling that
the University conducts for the selected candidates. For further
