Admission
The Himachal Pradesh University is a pioneer name in the field
of higher education in India. Established in the year 1971, its
International Centre for Distance Educational and Open Learning
(ICDEOL) has achieved many distinctions for its vast
contribution toward spreading the light of education and
enlightenment. The most notable being the launching of programs
at the postgraduate level. The ICDEOL is also credited with
starting for the first time postgraduate level courses in
social-sciences, humanities, commerce and teacher training.
Today, the Directorate of Correspondence Courses has adopted a
multi-media approach for enhancing learning experience. The
ICDEOL is located on the picturesque Summer Hill and is a part
of the university campus that has a well equipped library for
all its students.
To further its cause of creating talented teachers the ICDEOL
conducts a B.Ed. program albeit only for candidates who work in
a recognized and affiliated educational institution located in
Himachal Pradesh.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants to the course should have obtained a degree or a
postgraduate degree with 55% marks from the any stream (except
Agriculture, B.Sc. Economics and Home Science streams) under the
10+2+3 pattern of a recognized Indian university as mentioned in
the handbook of information. Applicants belonging to SC/ST
categories are eligible if they score 50% marks in the
qualifying exam. The applicant has to produce a valid proof of
working as a teacher for a minimum period of two years in a
government or a school recognized by the government in the
territorial jurisdiction of the university lying not outside of
Himachal Pradesh.
Admission Procedure
The admission shall be based strictly on academic merit.
Applicants who are found to be eligible will be individually
intimated by ICDEOL and invited for the counseling round.
Applicants are advised to personally check their number in the
merit list.
