Bharathidasan University
Distance Education BEd Admission 2013-2014
Named after the revolutionary Tamil poet by the name
Bharathidasan, the Bharathidasan University has been a status
symbol for sublime education in various fields in the state of
Tamil Nadu since February of 1982. The Bharathidasan University
celebrated its silver jubilee in the year 2006-07 and is one of
the most famed Universities in South India, especially in Tamil
Nadu. The main campus of the University is located at an area of
over 1000 acres in Palkalaiperur in Thiruchirappalli district of
Tamil Nadu. About 4 faculties comprising of 35 departments and
11 specialized centers for research are seen inside the
Bharathidasan University campus that caters to the needs of the
various student community. The Bachelor of Education program of
the University through distance learning is one of the most
sought after courses.
Eligibility criteria:
A candidate seeking admission to the Bachelor of Education
course of Bharathidasan University through distance education
mode will have to hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
specified by the University from any recognized University or
the Bharathidasan University. Also, the eligible candidate will
have to have a minimum of three years teaching experience in
either a Government or Government aided or a private school that
is approved by the Tamil Nadu Government.
Admission Procedure:
Any eligible candidate seeking admission to the Bharathidasan
University’s B Ed program through distance education needs to
write an entrance examination conducted by the University. Only
students who pass the entrance test will be eligible to seek
admission to the B Ed program. The selection of the candidates
will be based purely on merit with the SC/ST students having a
little bit of leverage of about 5% in the entrance exam when
compared to other candidates. For further details on the
