Jadavpur University BE/BTech Admission 2013-2014 Courses

The Jadavpur University is located on the southern part of Kolkata on a 58 acre campus on the Raja S.C. Malik road. The campus is well built and it consists of beautiful landscapes, lakes, playgrounds and various other facilities that will give the student an enjoyable learning experience. The Jadavpur University is well linked by rail, road and air. Some of the modern day facilities that are available in the University campus are: open air theater that can house about 3000 people, lecture theaters, health clubs and gymnasium, auditoriums and residential quarters. The BE and the B Tech graduation courses are a 4 year course that are offered under the faculty of Engineering and Technology department.

Eligibility Criteria:
Any candidate interested in taking up the 4 year B.E and B Tech course from Jadavpur University will have to hold a Higher Secondary School leaving certificate with about 60% aggregate marks in basic subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English. The student should have passed this higher secondary examination conducted either by the West Bengal council or by the State Boards of various schools that are controlled by the State Government. The University reserves about 28% of the total B.E and B Tech seats for SC or ST student and they need to have aggregate marks of 50% in physics, Chemistry and Maths subjects.

Admission Procedure:
Apart from scoring an aggregate of 60% marks in the Higher Secondary examinations conducted by the various State Governments, the candidate will have to take a Joint entrance exam conducted by the University. In order to be eligible candidates for B.E and B Tech courses, they should have scored very high marks in the JEE test. The admission to various courses is based on the marks obtained in the JEE test.
