One of the oldest universities in India is the Jadavpur
University. This has been in existence from 1906 and has been
converted into a University in 1955. The University is a very
popular one in Kolkata and is located on the Raja S C Malik
road. The ideal location of this college is a boon for students
as it is very close to railway station, bus stand as well as the
airport. The University also boasts of a second campus at Salt
Lake. The University comprises of a total of 34 departments
Namely Engineering and Technology, Arts and Science departments.
The National Assessment and Accreditation Council or NAAC has
given Jadavpur University a five star rating. Jadavpur

Eligibility Criteria:
For a candidate to seek admission in B Arch course in the
University, he or she should have passed the 10+2 or its
equivalent examination with a total aggregate of 50% marks in
subjects like Maths, Physics, and Chemistry put together. A 30%
mark in English is also a must for securing admission in this
University. An SC/St student needs to have an aggregate of 40%
marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to secure admission
in this University.
Admission Procedure:
A student will have to score high marks in the West Bengal Joint
Entrance Examination conducted by the West Bengal government in
order to get an admission in the University. A B Arch course
aspiring candidate will also have to qualify in the National
Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by Council of
Architecture in New Delhi. All these testimonials will have to
be brought to the scrutinizing officer at the time of
counseling.
