Kumaun University (KU) BEd Entrance Exam 2013-2014

The Kumaun University is a leading state university in Uttarakhand and famous for its apex standards in research and teaching. It attracts well-known scholars of different faculties. Kumaun University was recognized on 1 December 1973 by Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act, 1973 (Act No 10) through merger of the two Govt Colleges, DSB Govt College in Nainital and the Govt College in Almora. It is accepted as well as funded by the UGC and the State Government of Uttarakhand. It is given 4-stars by the NAAC and is the everlasting member of the AIU (Association of Indian Universities). The University had diffident beginning with merely two campuses as well as some associated Government colleges. Today the University is having three expansive campuses with 62 affiliated colleges. The University is having its administrative office located in the Nainital, which is known as ‘Sleepy Hollow’, a sparkling jewel in Himalayan necklace. It is blessed with the scenic natural grandeur and diverse natural resources. The University was recognized in the year 1973 through UP State Act. The University is having two campuses, one in Nainital and the other in Almora. It is having 27 allied colleges. One other Campus is developing in Bhimtal for professional, vocational, and technical education.

The B ed course includes subjects like Principles of the Education, Contemporary Problem of the Ind Edn, Ednl Psy, School Admn, Methods of the Teaching of Adv-level courses, Orgn & Supervision, Teaching of English, Science, Hindi, Maths; and Domestic Science. Students can also select any two of following subjects: Maths, English, Civics, Hindi, Geography, History, and Home Science, Economics, Sanskrit, Crafts and Social Studies, Music, and Arts.
