Banaras Hindu University (BHU) B.Ed/M.Ed Admission 2013-2014

The driving force behind establishing the Banaras Hindu University was the great social reformer and freedom fighter Pt. Madan Mohan Malviya. He had envisaged a great seat of learning that would help prepare the young minds of the country face every challenge of the modern world with their intellect and a human approach. The efforts of the visionary have seem to bear fruits today since the BHU is today ranked as the number one university by the joint survey conducted by the prestigious IndiaToday-Neilsen group. Today, the university offers around 140 well designed courses through its two campuses. The admission to all its programs is done through entrance tests that ensure bright minds get the opportunity to prove their mettle.

There is a great demand for quality teachers in the country like never before. To cater to an ever increasing demand of well qualified teaching staff the BHU has prepared a competitive course in the field of education. The university has allocated a total of 180 seats for the Bachelor of Education program and 24 seats for the Master of Education program. There exists a separate quota of seats for candidates who are physically challenged. The important details about the courses are as follows.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the B.Ed course the candidate has to produce an affidavit of nationality. The educational qualification includes a minimum of 55% marks at the degree exam of a recognized university.
The eligibility conditions for the M.Ed course requires a minimum of 50% marks in the B.Ed exam.
A general relaxation in aggregate marks is bestowed upon students from reserved category as per the government directives.

Admission Procedure:
The admission to both the courses is strictly done based on the scores of an All-India Entrance test conducted by the university.
