Mahatma Gandhi's dream in India as national language - Hindi was
also eminent. He said that any nation without its national
language is supposed to be dumb. From 10-14 January 1975, the
Hindi Conference held in Nagpur and the United Nations
resolution was passed in Hindi to be ranked as official language
as well as the international Hindi University at Wardha
headquarters have to be recognized. In the year 1976, in Second
World Hindi Conference at Mauritius, it was resolute to set the
World Hindi center, which might coordinate activities of the
Hindi language in the world.
Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya or in other
words, Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, was

father of our nation. Mahatma Gandhi was having firm belief that
Hindi language should not be only national language of India but
it must also get status of the world language. This dream of
Mahatma was imitated in resolutions passed through first World
Hindi Conference arranged in Nagpur in year 1975. The initial
resolution insisted Hindi to be completed as amongst the
official languages of United Nations Organization as well as the
second determined for establishing the International Hindi
University in Wardha, land where Mahatma Gandhi had experimented

The Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya was
produced by the Act passed through Indian Parliament in the year
1997. Section-3 of this Act mandates unique and special
responsibility to University for developing Hindi language as
well as literature through research and teaching and makes it
accomplished of becoming the World language in true sense for
the term. Since the year, 1997 this University is working as
residential University exclusively dedicated to source of Hindi.
