The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is commonly known as MSU. It is one of the best universities in India which is situated in the city of Baroda, Gujarat state, India. This University was established in the year 1881 and in the initial stage it was named as Baroda College of Science, and gained the university status in the year 1949 and later the university renamed as Maharaja Sayajirao University. The name of the University came after the former ruler of Baroda, Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. The University is one of the best teaching and residential universities in India. Maharaja Sayajirao University is the only university in Gujarat which has English as medium of instruction for all its academic courses.

Being the prestigious University in western India it holds about 35,000 students, 1200 well trained teachers in that 16 are faculties. The Maharaja Sayajirao University has more than ninety departments and institutions with more than 1,900 administrative staff members. The M.S.U. offers education from Balwadi to Master’s degree. Apart from many academic courses, the University also has many special courses and programs to improve their student’s knowledge in industrial studies. These kinds of industrial studies are very helpful for students to get job soon after the completion of their degree courses.

Faculty of Arts of Maharaja Sayajirao University is one of the key component of this University as it include Hindi and Gujarati, both for media use, Foreign Languages such as Arabic, German, French, Russian and Persian, fashion designing,tourism management, interior design, computer hardware and graphic designing and advertising, tally, networking, web graphics and animation, food and beverage production courses, sports, physical activity education, dramatics and yoga. The Libraries of Maharaja Sayajirao University was established in the year 1950 with more than 25,000 books, journals, periodicals and with Internet.
