University of Pune Courses
University of Pune, popularly known as “Oxford of East” was
established in 1948 in Maharashtra. This university houses 46
departments and 612 affiliated colleges under it. There are more
than 300 recognized research institutes controlled by it. The
colleges under the Pune University offer graduate and
undergraduate courses in various areas of study. Pune University
is given “A” rating by NAAC for its overall performance in the
field of education. The university aims at becoming a vibrant
center for knowledge and excellence in education. The university
offers excellent facilities to the students and even foreign
students are trying to get admission to this university.
Eligibility criteria:
For the under graduate courses, the general eligibility criteria
is a pass in the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination from a
statutory board or any equivalent examination. However, each
department has its own eligibility requirements depending on
which subject the student want to specialize. The eligibility
requirements are available at the university website or can be
obtained from Registrar’s office. For post graduate courses a
pass in the under graduate course is necessary.
Admission procedure:
Applications for under graduate courses and graduate courses can
be submitted on line. Admission will be based on the marks
scored in the qualifying exam or on the entrance test, depending
on the type of the course opted by a student. If you have
completed graduation from the University of Pune you will just
have to attend an interview. Students from other universities
will have to appear for selection examination after submitting
the online application. Further information regarding the

age and with brilliant academic record can even avail Rhodes
scholarship given by University of Oxford.
