The Jamia Milia Islamia University was established by a group of nationalist Muslim leaders in the year 1920 at Aligarh in South Delhi. This University is one of the oldest Universities in New Delhi and got its recognition as a Central University in 1988 by the Parliament Act of 1988. The Jamia Milia Islamia University has seven faculties that offer various graduate and postgraduate courses to the people living inside as well as the outskirts of Delhi. The University was shifted to Karol Bagh in New Delhi from the Aligarh campus due to some political disturbances. The University has been recognized by various educational councils of India namely the University Grants Commission, Bar Council of India and the All Indian Council for technical Education. Some of the most prominent alumni of this University include Shahrukh Khan, Barkha Dutt, Virendra Sehwag, Kiran Rao etc.

Eligibility Criteria:
A candidate seeking admission to the various undergraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce and Management Studies need to have secured pass marks in the qualifying 10+2 examinations or any other qualifying examinations from a recognized board. Students seeking admission to the various postgraduate degree courses in Arts, Science and Commerce subjects will be eligible if they possess a Bachelor’s degree in that particular discipline from any recognized University. For B.E and B Tech courses, the candidates will be eligible only if they score a minimum of 45% marks in the 10+2 or its equivalent examinations that are conducted by the recognized Boards.

Admission Procedure:
Candidates who are eligible to take up B.E/ B Tech course will be selected on the basis of the marks obtained in the Engineering entrance examination conducted by the University. Students who are eligible for the MBA program will have to secure merit marks in the entrance test, qualifying degree examination as well as the personal interview in order to gain admission to the course.
