Bangalore University Courses
The Bangalore University came into existence in 1886 as the
Central College which was started by the British Government to
award University degrees. The Bangalore University or BU got its
name on July 10th 1964 by University Grants Commission under the
State of Mysore Act passed by the Government. The University is
now operational in two campuses, the Jnana Bharathi campus and
the Central College campus. The University is one of the oldest
Universities in South India and it is recognized by the
Association of Indian Universities (AIU). A bio park, state of
the art library with a very good book stock, health care centre,
gymnasium, swimming pool, transport facilities for students and
faculty etc are some of the facilities that the University
provides its students with.
Eligibility criteria:
Any candidate seeking admission to the various courses offered
by the Bangalore University should be an Indian citizen. A
candidate seeking admission to the Undergraduate courses of
Bangalore University should have passed his or her two year Pre
University examination conducted by the Karnataka State and
should have scored merit marks in the subject that he or she
chooses to pursue in the undergraduate course. Any candidate
seeking admission to the post graduate courses offered by the
University will have to hold a Bachelor’s degree with an
aggregate of 45% to 50% marks in the respective subject that he
or she wishes to choose for the Master’s degree.
Admission Procedure:
The candidates seeking admission to the various undergraduate
and postgraduate courses offered by the Bangalore University
will have submit their duly filled in application form with all
the copies of their testimonials of the previous qualifying
examinations to the college office. The short listed candidates
will be called for a personal interview on a specified date
mentioned in the call letter sent by the University. The
candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks obtained
in the qualifying examination as well as the performance that he
or she puts in during the personal interview. For further
